At TPE Precision, we take pride in continuously refining our products. Each year, we implement 1–2 significant updates per product to ensure performance, durability, and fitment meet the highest standards. Sometimes the changes are very small like tolerance alterations in specific areas to assist you during installation and other times these changes are more substantial like; complete redesign or even a new manufacturing method.
So what did we changed on the V2 Intake manifold for the R53 MINI ?
We increased the volume and redesigned the plenum:
Of course, we did not just increased the volume of the plenum, every surface is redesigned. We even managed to smooth out specific areas. The outcome? We now see increased boost pressure even with the enlarged volume!

Bracket provision for supporting heavy intercoolers:
That was a request from customers that run charge coolers. No need to worry! We have you covered.
Compression limiters: Like OE plastic manifolds, to prevent issues from over torqued bolts.
These billet stainless steel (yes! You heard that right.) compression limiters are bespoke designed and manufactured only for our manifold.
We go over and beyond to deliver the best options available and we don’t cut corners even to small details as the compression limiters.
The purpose of the limiters is to protect the intake manifold from over torqued bolts but also to make sure that the bolts will remain torqued even without the use of thread locker.

Altered injectors area:
Increased in depth and with more tight fit compared to V1.
There is no room for wrong installation, the injectors are now locked in a very specific location.
Enlarged runners compared to V1:
Enlarged surface area with slightly altered shape and smoother transition to the cylinder head.
Dedicated design for ported versions:
Ported manifold gets it’s own runner shape, because, we like paying attention to details!
Increased Viton seal size for the intercooler horn:
A bigger Viton seal. This, not only will last longer (although we don't see signs of wear even in race cars after 2 seasons of racing) but, it will be easier to install making the installation process a bit better.
Bespoke Intake Manifolds:
We altered our models in such way that it is easier for us to make bespoke manifolds (usually for ported version).
For bespoke manifolds we will need a 3D scan file of the ported cylinder head or the outline.

Proven Performance That Stays the Same:
+40Nm and 15whp at 3000 rpm+10Nm and 12 whp at 7000 rpm
Drastically lower IATs (up to 30C in race conditions)
Faster IAT recovery rate.
Increased boost pressure.
Additionally, its 2 kg lighter compared to the original unit and it's CFD optimized to reduce pressure drop points and equalize flow to all four runners.
Ohh nearly forgot to mention the screaming supercharger intake sound!!
By designing the manifold with thinner walls; we unleashed even more supercharger sound. Pushing the load pedal was never more enjoyable! Check the video below:
